Introducing Home Sweet Habitat

Tune up your taste buds!

Home Sweet Habitat is a new event giving participants the chance to sample delicious desserts and appetizers created by local restaurants, caterers and bakeries -- and those businesses the chance to display their specialities to new customers.

Home Sweet Habitat will be held Monday, November 7, 7:30-9 p.m. in the social hall at Pittman Park United Methodist Church, on Fair Road.

In addition to scrumptious desserts, Home Sweet Habitat will feature some great raffle and door prizes. Enter as many as you like to win great prizes for yourself or to give as holiday gifts. And we will have "Home Sweet Habitat" cookbooks for sale.

Tickets are $5 in advance, $7 at the door, and are available at the Habitat Office, 515 Denmark Street, and from Habitat board members. Or mail a check for your tickets, payable to Habitat for Humanity of Bulloch County, to P.O. Box 1253, Statesboro, GA 30459. Tickets are limited, so advance purchase is recommended.

As a special bonus, the Habitat Christmas Playhouse will be on display, and tickets available during the event.

Want to Help?

All restaurants, caterers, bakers from Bulloch and neighboring areas are welcome to provide desserts and appetizers. We also need contributions of beverages (coffee and punch), paper and plastic serving ware, party goods and raffle prizes! All contributors will be recognized as sponsors.

Dessert or Appetizer Sponsor: $25 Sponsor fee and provide desserts, sugar-free desserts or appetizers for tasting. (must have Health Department food service certificate)
Prize Sponsor: Contribute an item or gift package as a raffle or door prize at the event. Examples: a night stay at a bed and breakfast, a gourmet food basket, tickets to an event, a television, gift certificates for meals, wine rack or other gift item.

Building Around the World
A portion of the proceeds from this and other events are contributed to Habitat for Humanity International to support building around the world. In the past year we have contributed to building in the Honduras and Southeast Asia for tsunami relief. We also accept donations for a Bulloch County contribution to hurricane rebuilding in the Gulf Coast. A special collection jar will be set up at Home Sweet Habitat for these donations.
