Where Habitat begins
Construction of a Habitat home does not begin with the volunteers you see working on the house on Saturdays. It begins with the generousity of local residents who donate cash, or materials for homes, who help sponsor houses or donate items to the Habitat ReStore. Except for occasional grants, all money to build Habitat homes is raised locally, in Bulloch County.
|
The cost for all home building has gone up steeply in recent years, making Habitat even more important as the only source of affordable homes for many hard-working, low-paid families. |
